 On
October 6th of 1992 First Baptist Church Ceredo member Paul
E. Mannon was called by God to fulfill a need in the
Tri-State Area. As he discussed his calling with others they
were eager to help. Shortly after a committee of senior
adults was formed, naming their outreach ministry
Shoes For Kids.
The
committee distributes shoes, socks, and a New Testament or
tract to children in area schools. This ministry is
supported by monetary funds from church members and others.
To date
Shoes For Kids
has
distributed nearly 1,300 pairs of shoes.
As Paul
Mannon states
“The need continues to exist and we look forward to meeting
that need with God’s help. Each time we visit a school and
see the smiles of gratitude on a child’s face we
are reminded that we are, indeed, our brothers keeper.”
